I would like to invite you to join me for a deeply nourishing day retreat held in a magical and peaceful garden studio in Woodside Park, North London.

In the heart of winter, when everything moves a little slower and the light fades early, we are invited to gather, and to draw warmth from one another. In Scandinavia, where the winters are long and dark, people have learned to turn inward together, finding light in shared moments of comfort. They call is: Hygge, a way of cultivating comfort and ease by creating a warm atmosphere, enjoying simple pleasures, and savouring the present moment with others or on your own. Inspired by this spirit, The Gentle Gathering offers a sanctuary where you can rest, connect, and be cared for, a day to find your own sense of inner Hygge here in North London.

You are welcome to come just as you are, or with a friend, to be among other women.

The day will be an invitation to nourish body and soul, to move with ease, rest deeply, eat well, and enjoy the quiet beauty of winter together.

What to expect

This retreat is a gentle invitation to pause and be cared for.

The intention is for you to feel fully supported, grounded, and nourished throughout the day.

The pace will be soft and unhurried. You will be invited to move with ease, rest deeply, enjoy a wholesome meal, and take part in a beautiful art-based creative experience that nurtures imagination and expression. Everything you need will be provided.

The flow of the day

We will open the day with a welcome gathering, herbal tea, and homemade energy balls, a quiet moment to arrive and settle.

Our morning practice will unfold through gentle yoga and somatic exploration, inviting the body to release the tightness that often gathers through the colder months. The intention is to support movement that feels fluid and easeful, helping you unwind the winter knots so breath and energy can flow with greater freedom. As the practice softens, we will ease into guided rest, allowing the body to replenish and settle.

A nourishing homemade vegetarian lunch will follow, shared around the table in warm company. This will be a time for connection, conversation, and the pleasure of eating together.

Our afternoon will open into a creative space where art and mindfulness meet. Through colour, texture, and simple artistic expression, you will be invited to explore your inner landscape and give shape to what wishes to emerge. No artistic experience is needed, only curiosity and presence.
